About UsI’m Rosie Withey, a freelance equestrian coach based in Clutton near Bristol. My focus is on raising awareness, developing understanding, building confidence and improving communication between horse and rider, whilst continually paying attention to the whole picture. My passion lies in developing harmony between horse and rider, by forming a solid foundation of training based on trust, understanding and knowledge. I enjoy helping people to improve their partnership and performance with their horse. I have competed in dressage to BD Advanced Medium level, in show jumping and Eventing to BE Novice level. I have owned my current horse Jack (Sjako), an 8 year old Dutch Warmblood, for 18 months. We slowly developed our partnership and last autumn qualified for the British Dressage Regional finals at Preliminary and Novice level. However, his spooky and unpredictable behaviour became more important than competing and we are currently exploring ways to develop his confidence and a more trusting relationship. As I constantly develop my skills with the riders and horses that I am lucky enough to work with, I particularly enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with my clients. I built and ran a successful Equestrian centre for 13 years, which focused on the training and development of horses and riders. When I sold the business in 2003 I continued to work as a freelance riding instructor, whilst furthering my knowledge and experience in other areas and developing my coaching and training ethos. I now combine my traditional BHS training (BHSII) with my professional coaching and hypnotherapy skills, my studies of different training and groundwork methods and my interest in sports psychology, physiotherapy, the Alexander Technique, The Tellington Touch and most recently Connected Riding. My unique approach to every horse and rider ensures a plan specifically designed to suit each individual. |
