How we can help

Who benefits from coaching with Rosie?

Rosie helps people who are motivated and enthusiastic about their riding whether they ride for pleasure or to compete.  Some clients are unclear about their exact direction, but know they want to progress.  Others know what they want to achieve, but seem stuck and are not sure what’s holding them back.

Rosie’s clients are motivated, avid learners and keen to progress and improve.  They enjoy working with their horses, are open minded and willing.  They are patient and persistent and are prepared to take the times it takes to achieve their desired goals.

Is this you?

Some of the common requests of Rosie’s clients are:

“I’ve just bought a new horse that has lots of potential.  I’m very rusty and haven’t had lessons for ages.  I want to go back to basics and build our partnership slowly and correctly.”

“My horse doesn’t canter on the correct canter lead when I’m riding him, even though he does when I lunge him.”

“My horse is really spooky, he had a bad start in life and although I’m doing some Riding Club One Day Events I’ve lost my confidence.”

“My horse has been playing me up recently, I keep being told different things and I don’t know what to do.”

“I have been eventing my horse for a couple of years and we have done really well at unaffiliated events.  He often puts a short stride in or goes on a long one  and now that we’ve moved on to bigger fences he’s started stopping!”

“My horse had an injury a few months ago and the vet and physiotherapist say that I must bring him back into work gradually and incorporate some lungeing and long reining.  I’m not very confident doing either and would like some help.”

If so, coaching with Rosie could help you to:

  • Improve your horse’s balance and training, improve your balance and feel and achieve correct canter leads.
  • Assess the cause of your horse’s spookiness and of your lack of confidence and build a more confident partnership with your horse.
  • Understand your horse’s behaviour, identify what you want to achieve with your horse and progress calmly and confidently.
  • Develop a feel for a good quality canter and stride to a jump, improve your jumping technique and jump clear rounds again.
  • Gain knowledge, understanding and confidence of groundwork, lungeing and long reining and witness the benefits to your horse.
  • Achieve a solid foundation of flatwork and/or jumping and gain a happy partnership and successful performance with your horse.

Don’t expect a quick fix, which can just as easily go wrong again.   Rosie is passionate about taking the time to build a solid foundation, in all aspects of training.
